Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 August 2026

This policy is about chatpony.com — this website, the chat widget in its corner, the public demo, and email you send us. It is short because the site collects very little.

It does not describe Chatpony deployments run by our customers on their own infrastructure. See Section 8.

1. Who is responsible

Chatpony is built and operated by nekocode, an individual developer.

For anything in this policy — including a request to see, correct, or delete your data — write to nekocode.cn@gmail.com. We answer in English or Chinese.

2. What this site collects

Chat messages. When you open the chat widget on this site we store what you send: the text of your messages and any files you attach. Nothing identifies you unless you type it yourself. There is no sign-up, no name field, and no email field you must fill in before talking to us.

Browser storage. The widget keeps a random session token in your browser's local storage so that reloading the page does not lose your conversation, and the site stores the language you selected. Both are technical values, neither is shared with anyone, and clearing your browser data removes them.

A login cookie. Signing in to the agent console at /app sets a session cookie. That includes signing in to the public demo with the published demo account. It is required to keep you logged in and does nothing else.

Email. If you write to us, we keep your address and your message, because that is what answering it requires.

Server logs. Cloudflare, which serves and protects this site, records ordinary request metadata such as IP address, user agent, and timestamps, and uses it to route traffic and block abuse. This is Cloudflare's processing under Cloudflare's terms.

That is the complete list. We run no analytics, load no third-party scripts, and set no advertising or tracking cookies.

3. What we never do

4. Why we hold it

Where the law asks for a legal basis, ours is our legitimate interest in replying to you and keeping the service available, plus your consent for anything you volunteer beyond that.

5. The public demo, and the widget on this site

The demo on this site is public, shared, and disposable. Everything in it — every conversation, contact, ticket, and attachment — is erased every hour, on the hour, and replaced with fresh sample data. Anyone can sign in with the published demo credentials and read whatever it holds at that moment.

The chat widget in the corner of this page writes into that same demo inbox. So a message you send us through it is visible to anyone using the demo until the next reset, and then it is gone — including from us. If you need an answer that outlives the hour, or want to tell us something private, use nekocode.cn@gmail.com instead.

Treat the demo as a stage, not a filing cabinet. Do not put personal data, credentials, or confidential information into it.

6. How long things are kept

7. Who else is involved

Cloudflare provides the compute, storage, and network this site runs on, so data passes through and rests on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Cloudflare operates a global network: requests are served from whichever location is closest to you, which means processing can happen in any country where Cloudflare has a presence.

Nobody else receives your data. There is no email marketing platform, no analytics vendor, and no CRM behind this site.

8. Deployments run by our customers

Chatpony is software our customers install on their own Cloudflare accounts. When you chat with a company that uses Chatpony, your messages go to that company's infrastructure, under that company's privacy policy. We have no access to it — no console, no database, no copy, no telemetry phoning home.

If you reached this page from a widget on someone else's website, this policy is not the one that governs your conversation. Ask the site you were on.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to how it is processed, or to complain to a data protection authority.

Write to nekocode.cn@gmail.com and we will act on it. In practice there is usually little to act on: demo data erases itself within the hour, and email is the only thing that persists.

10. Children

This site is aimed at businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

11. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes are not applied retroactively to data already collected.

12. Language

This document is published in several languages. The English version is the only binding one, and it controls in the event of any conflict, discrepancy, or ambiguity with a translation.
